Superlux HD681: My Equalizer Settings (Peace Equalizer)

Great Budget Headphones

The Superlux HD681 is a solid budget pair of headphones that works well for both gaming and music. They’ve gotten a lot of love on YouTube and are often recommended by reviewers. In this post, I’ll share the EQ settings I use to make them sound even better.

What are Equalizer APO and Peace Equalizer

You’ll need 2 programs:

Equalizer APO is a free and open-source equalizer for Windows. It runs in the background and lets you change your sound in real-time, working with any audio device on your PC.

Peace Equalizer is also free and open-source. It is the interface for APO, giving you a control panel with sliders, presets, and tools like a 31-band equalizer.

Basically, Equalizer APO processes the audio, and Peace Equalizer provides the controls to manage it.

Here's my simple EQ settings with Peace

The Superlux HD681 can sound a bit harsh in the treble, so some EQ adjustment helps smooth things out.

  1. Open Peace after installing both programs
  2. Select the full interface when it asks

I keep my EQ setup simple with just a few changes, while leaving the rest at default:

  • Pre Amplifying: -2.5
  • Frequency 4000: -4
  • Frequency 8000: -4
